Technically part of trendy Plateau Mont-Royal but infinitely more authentic,&nbsp;this effervescent district covers just about 10 blocks but is incidentally home to Canada&#8217;s largest concentration of artists, in addition to some of Montreal&#8217;s most acclaimed restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re keen on discovering this lively, diverse, appealing part of town, here are my suggestions of things to see and do while you&#8217;re there to get a proper Mile End experience. It&#8217;s an open-air market and event space at Entrep\u00f4t77 with musical performances, workshops, food trucks, outdoor film screenings, craft markets, a biergarten, and my personal favourite, an annual dog fashion show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The popular weekly gathering takes place from Friday afternoons until Sunday evenings. Truly one of Montreal&#8217;s most charming venues!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another option is the quirkier, peculiar <a href=\"http:\/\/casadelpopolo.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Casa del Popolo<\/a> on boulevard Saint-Laurent. &#8220;The house of the people&#8221; is equal parts vegetarian eatery, coffee shop, indie music venue, and art gallery, and an intimate one completely surrounded by ceiling-high columns of bagels when you enter the store; a lot of my friends, on the opposite, prefer <a href=\"https:\/\/stviateurbagel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bagel St-Viateur<\/a>, and you wouldn&#8217;t catch them so much as walking past Bagel Fairmount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Same goes for the Italian coffee&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cafeolimpico.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cafe Olimpico<\/a>&nbsp;(which opened in 1970) or the sun-drenched terrace of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cafeclubsocial.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Caf\u00e9 Club Social<\/a> filled with elderly Italians playing cards, the truth of the matter is, you&#8217;ll
