The newest part was designed by Jean Nouvel and opened in 2019, and is adjacent to the original 20th-century palace of&nbsp;Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, the former emir of Qatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The museum is a tribute to Qatari heritage and its striking allure is certainly testament to that thanks to its features reminiscent of <meta charset=\"utf-8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Desert_rose_(crystal)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">desert roses<\/a>. its earlier days, the souq was directly connected to the waterfront in order to allow shipments arriving from the Persian gulf to unload directly at the Another one of Doha&#8217;s landmarks designed by a star architect, namely I.M.
